Lake Powell Legacy, 2013!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal we had at some po-dunk restaurant on the way to Antelope Point Marina.  At first we were a little disappointed because we had been separated from our carpool group and the rest of everyone went to Costa Vida a few towns back without telling us.  We decided to grab something while they caught up.  This was some of the best pork I've ever had! I'm kinda glad we were unintentionally excluded now!  haha.   I know where I'm stopping for dinner next time!

I think Ryan is imitating my singing in this picture.  I love music and Coldplay is my Lake Powell soundtrack.  I was singing it to myself outloud at the time this picture was taken.  We were on our way to see Rainbow Bridge.

Ryan was really hoping to hike but I was a little nervous about the heat so I was really glad when I learned that the water level around Rainbow Bridge had receded enough that there was a fun little shaded hiking trail that we had to take in order to reach the monument.

Hard to believe water once ran right through this beautiful arch!  It is considered a spiritual place to indians in the area so we were asked to stay on the trail.  I can understand why the indians would consider this place sacred ground.  There was a special reverence due here.  I am sometimes taken aback on the beauty a desert can offer.

Legitimate dinosaur footprint, left 2 weeks ago ;)  Guess which half of this statement is false.

How appropriate we would see one of Ryan's most authentic smiles while at one of his favorite places doing one of his favorite things.  :)

Some of our favorite ship-mates!

Eric and Kimberly Wimmer, diving (and sliding) for dollars!

One of my favorite things to do at Powell is lie back on my floatie and let the warm breeze from the walls of Powell sweep across me.

Jeremy and Chelsea Leavitt

We were lucky enough to spend Ryan's birthday on the boat...so Eric and Kim surprised us with a cake for Ryan.  I think this was one of Ryan's favorite evenings.  We danced, played the most hilarious creative version of Spoons I've ever played, played other party games, and watched a movie.  Good times!

Our dancing, spinning, singing, game of spoons!

A small bundle of us got helicopter rides...Ryan and I opted out this time around.  We are saving our expensive Helicopter tour for a time we can't reach a place without it...like in New Zealand or something ;)

Brothers Norgren...cruising on plyboard and barstools.  Laughs and laughs!  Drink up boys!

Our after-party pool party!

This guy on the right, Chuck, was sooo fun to talk with!  He shared all sorts of fun stories from his years at Powell and even shared some experiences from the time he spent at war.  He was a fighter pilot and was shot down twice!  This guy on the left is the best wakeboarder I know!  He makes every air trick seem totally doable...I better not try though.

Enjoying a Novelty

We went to the Drive-In with Dan and Cami!  Drive-In movies used to be so popular but anymore they are difficult to find.  Riverdale Motor-Vu is last one I know of.  We saw Monsters University and Despicable Me II and were in stitches from laughing so hard! I'll be really sad if these disappear entirely.
